DO contact us when you yourself have concern about a specific major. USC has 150 majors and 150 minors; to be able to show your knowledge and curiosity about your interest that is academic is we appreciate, but we also know countless choices could be confusing.
DON’T over-communicate…CONSOLIDATE! We’d instead answer several well orchestrated emails than numerous questions that are individual.
DO remind us if and when we’ve met in yesteryear. We meet a large number of students each year and appreciate when students don’t assume we remember the conversation we had using them.
DON’T have your parent e mail us. Be your own advocate!
DO write us an email when there is an outlying circumstance you want us to keep yourself updated of. This is something that we shall aspect in your application as well.
DON’T address us incorrectly or improperly in the email.
DO include your USC ID number and/or name in your email.
Finally, DON’T ask us to modify your writing samples. We can give you advice that is general what you should take into account when composing your individual statement but it is perhaps not appropriate for us to edit them.

It absolutely was simply over two years ago it has been that I started as an Assistant Director of Admission at USC. Wow, what a journey! I work with students from a variety of areas: Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Kansas City, and parts of Orange County and San Diego (phew!). We have actually bright red hair, while the fiery personality to match, therefore I am always complete of energy and up for any adventure. We love to travel, explore the outdoors, bake anything with chocolate (lots from it!), and you can find me dancing if there is a positive tune. I’m delighted to be joining the blogging team and can not wait to share some of my insights and knowledge about the admission process and college life.
I grew up in Utah and lived into the most mountains that are beautiful the world. I spent quite a bit of time checking out them, but got tired of the winters that are lengthy which is why I was eager to attend school in sunny Southern California. I went to Claremont McKenna university where I learned International Relations and Psychology.
We liked my university experience. I actually enjoyed it, which is why I enjoy working in advanced schooling, specifically assisting students find an institution that is clearly a good fit. Our students are thinkers, scholastic options are plentiful, and we have been located in an urban community in one of the best towns in the world. Dining Table For Just One

Currently, I am writing this web site sitting inside a Peet’s Coffee in Northern California. Table for one, headphones in ears, answering emails and signing down notes about my highschool visits from earlier today. For the week that is next a half, i am living in hotel spaces and having dishes without any help. Usually, there is time for you to explore the populous cities I visit making sure that’s nice. But most of the time, the road can be tiring so I invest most of my time resting whenever possible. It’s very easy to get unwell regarding the road!
For around 8 weeks of the year, a large number of admission representatives throughout the country live this lifestyle. From the outside perspective, this indicates really glamorous. In a variety of ways, it is just a very job that is fun. It’s truly rewarding to manage to help students in one of the very most transitional phases in their everyday lives. It’s also good having the ability to be away from the office. However, this section of the job can be isolating since well. It creates me appreciate my friends, wife and family back at home more.
Still, our mission is what is in the forefront. USC visits over 2,000 schools per year; we go to the most schools that are high of any college in the united states. We are out here searching for students that may compensate the following class that is incoming of at USC. It is our goal to put together a class that is exceptionally diverse year so we wish to meet various types of students. I am honored to do my tiny part in this process. It brings me personally a sense of satisfaction to work for a university that aligns with my vision that is own for.
So seek us out. Ask questions. Become familiar with us. We care in what we do and all we want is for you yourself to be happy with your choice. It’s a big life decision so that it’s important to be up to date. If we appear to be we’re in a rush in between visits, it’s probably because we have been. But we will always make you feel welcome to contact us at a time that is different via email or phone. We think exactly what we do things. It is loved by us.
